If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck or unsure what to do next, therapy can help you make sense of things. My aim is to offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel understood, respected and able to talk openly.
Hi, I’m Daniel Hawkes –
MBABCP-Accredited CBT Therapist
I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Norwich, offering online CBT to adults across the UK. I support people facing anxiety, trauma, low mood, OCD, self-esteem challenges, and difficulties around identity or direction in life.
I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, and that’s completely okay. My role is to offer a calm, supportive space where you feel understood — and to help you make sense of what’s going on so we can work toward meaningful change together.
Experience & Training
I’ve worked in the field of mental health for over 11 years. My background includes delivering therapy within NHS Talking Therapies services and in private practice. I’m an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in High-Intensity CBT from the University of East Anglia (2019).
Over the years, I’ve supported clients with a wide range of issues — from panic attacks and phobias, to long-term depression, trauma, self-esteem difficulties, and identity-based stress.
I also have experience working with people from LGBTQ+ communities, and offer an affirming space for those navigating gender, sexuality, and personal relationships.
How I Work
I use a collaborative, structured and evidence-based approach. CBT focuses on the present — but also helps you make sense of how past experiences might be shaping how you think and feel now. Together, we look at the patterns that are keeping you stuck and work on shifting them in a way that supports your goals.
Therapy with me is practical and grounded, but also reflective. Sometimes that means using strategies and tools; other times, it means creating space to slow down, step back, and understand yourself better.
Why Work With Me?
Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, grounded presence — and how easy it is to talk openly, even about things they’ve struggled to share elsewhere. Therapy isn’t always easy, but it doesn’t have to feel clinical or cold. We’ll go at your pace, with a clear focus on what matters to you.

A Bit More About Me
Outside of therapy, I’m someone who’s naturally curious and active. I’m into strength training — not just for the physical benefits, but because it helps me feel grounded and connected. I care about health and balance, mentally and physically, and I’m always learning — whether that’s through reading, travelling, improving my Spanish, or exploring what makes us human.
I enjoy being outdoors whenever I can: walks, bikes, cold swims, or just getting out in nature. I love discovering different cultures and ways of thinking, and I bring that same open-minded approach into my work with clients.
